After much back and forth between multiple different people from PASHA, pashagroup.com, Young Brothers, htbyb.com, Richmond Yacht Club (RYC) richmondyc.org, Maui Boat and Yacht Club (MBYC) mauiyacht.org, Kahākūkahi Ocean Academy(KOA) www.kahakukahi.org , Lahaina Yacht Club(LYC) lyc.us, and the Maui Community Sailing Foundation (MCSF) mauicommunitysailingfoundation.org an agreement was reached.
RYC of Point Richmond, CA decided to put together a fleet of boats for Maui and donate it. Many hands have had to work together to get this voyage underway. You all know who you are. You folks are heroes. Without you we would not have this opportunity to get some sailing education and competition back here in Maui County. |

Gary and Karen Sylvern have graciously allowed us to store the boats and equipment on their property, at least temporarily. We have to get the area ship shape and keep it that way to stay there. We have cleared some space for the boats and other related stuff. But we only partially cleared it. There is still a big tarp full of green waste trimmings in the driveway, the grass needs a mow and weed whacking, and the ripe fruits need to be eaten. If anyone would be so gracious as to volunteer and get any of these landscaping issues properly disposed of, it would be a big help in keeping this fleet on course.
Currently the un-official plan is to create a kind of Maui Community Sailing Equipment library for sailing related community programs and events and just get out and sail safely. Suzie, Commodore of MBYC plans to get a group together for regularly scheduled sails and sharing her knowledge of the BYTE boats we just received. Connie, RC sail of LYC and Zane of KOA are putting together some programs that start with intermediate sailors together for some sailing in October and getting some juniors going too.

BUT!! before any of that can happen, we need more ready, willing, and able heroes to crew this ship. From mowing the lawn, to finding suitable sailing spots, organizing equipment, maintaining equipment, helping with events, to winning a regatta, we need all kinds of HELP and as much of it as we can get.
